Hey Mother of the Bride, congratulations on this exciting milestone! As you gear up to celebrate your daughter's big day, it's time to find that stunning dress that makes you feel like the confident woman you truly are.

Let's dive into 10 tips & etiquette to make this shopping experience a breeze:

  1. Start Early, Stress Less:

    • Planning ahead is the key to a stress-free dress hunt. Begin your search at least 4-6 months before the wedding to allow ample time for alterations and fittings. Most gowns will need some minor alterations, including a hem or nips/tucks in a few spots.
  2. Set the Tone:

    • Take cues from the wedding theme and color scheme. Coordinating with the bridal party is a lovely touch, but remember, you're the leading lady in this story!
  3. Stay True to Your Style:

    • Trends come and go, but your style is timeless. Opt for a dress that reflects your personality, whether it's classic, modern, or somewhere in between.
  4. Consider the Venue:

    • Keep the location and season in mind. A breezy, summer garden wedding calls for a different dress than a formal, winter affair.
  5. Etiquette Matters:

    • Communicate with the bride about her preferences. While it's essential to feel empowered and confident, it's equally important to ensure your choice aligns with her vision.
    • Traditionally, the mother of the bride choosing her dress before the mother of the groom. This is so that the mother of the bride can set the tone of the dress styling. Untraditionally, our suggestion is to start the conversation early with the groom's counterpart. The end goal is for everyone to feel and look amazing, and to not step on anyone's toes. Communication is key!
  6. Be Mindful of Color:

    • Traditionally, Mother of the Bride dresses don't exactly match the bridal party, but it's essential to complement the overall color scheme. Opt for hues that harmonize without stealing the show.
  7. Accessories: The Finishing Touch:

    • Elevate your look with accessories that reflect your personal style. A statement necklace, sparkly earrings, elegant clutch, or a fabulous hat can take your outfit to the next level.
  8. Final Fitting:

    • Ensure the dress fits like a glove. A well-fitted dress not only looks better but also makes you feel more confident.
  9. Support & Lift Where Needed:
    1. Many women have insecurities around their body. We're here to tell you that's normal! We're also here to tell you to utilize shapewear and support garments to feel even more confident! We carry Boomba bras, tape and lift inserts to look amazing in all necklines
  10. Don't Upstage the Bride:
    • We probably don't even need to say this, but we've all heard stories...so we're throwing this in for good measure! White? Nope. Ivory? Nope. Dress has a crazy long lace train? Nope. Showing a crazy amount of skin? Nope.

Remember, this is YOUR moment too - spoil yourself a bit! Follow these tips, trust your instincts, and let your inner glow shine through on this special day.
