What was the style inspiration for your wedding?
We always wanted a rustic style wedding so we searched for venues with that atmosphere. When we found the Distillery Room at the Waterhouse, we fell in love with its character and the way it blended rustic and industrial elements, creating exactly what we wanted for our special day! We pieced everything else around the ambiance of the venue!
What do you admire most about your husband?
The part about my husband that I admire the most is his heart. He is the most genuine, kind, and caring person I've ever met and always puts other's needs before his own. He's generally a quiet person and doesn't express himself often, but when he does it is most sincere. In addition, I love the way he has always made me feel comfortable in my own skin. I've always felt like I can be myself around him and his weirdness and goofiness matches mine!
Tell us more about your wedding. Is there a great proposal story? How did you choose your location? Any DIY tips? What else would you want everyone to know about your wedding?
Ben proposed to me at Christmas of 2017 in our living room with the ring tied around our cat's collar. Naturally, she wouldn't allow him to take it off of her easily so there was quite a delay between when I saw the ring and when he actually proposed which gave us a laugh. It was the sweetest proposal with his grandmother's diamond set into the most beautiful ring, just us two in our home. Afterwards, he took me to eat at the restaurant where we had our first date! It was the merriest Christmas.
As far as wedding tips... not everything will always work out according to plan, but if you've got some amazing people working behind the scenes - you'll never know if anything goes wrong! It's definitely worth it to splurge on a wedding planner/day-of coordinator if you're one to get easily overwhelmed (like me!) or if you just don't have the time or vision to make your dream wedding happen. I could not have imagined a more perfect wedding day and owe so much of that to my wedding planner at So Chic Boutique!
On the other hand, don't sweat the small stuff or get too wrapped up in the details. We had rain, snow, and horrific wind on our wedding day but it was absolutely the most perfect day we could've ever imagined! Everyone had a wonderful time and it was truly a day we will cherish for the rest of our lives. At the end of the day, your wedding day is just a day (a very important one, that is!) that goes by just as fast, if not faster than any other day. Soak it all in and enjoy it!
What was your experience with Adore?
I had the most wonderful experience at Adore, every single time I set foot in the boutique. From the day I chose my dress, to all of the fittings, to dropping it off for preservation, Adore offered excellent customer service. The staff members remember you by name each time you come in, and they truly make you feel like the most beautiful bride! Carissa helped me to find my dream dress, Brea was awesome with communicating appointment times via text, and Janice and Kathie did a wonderful job with my fittings/alterations. The Adore experience is most certainly a "Say Yes to the Dress" experience. I cannot say enough amazing things about this shop and the ladies who run it! Thank you for everything, Adore!!

So Chic Boutique for seamless planning and creating the vision for our special day. Sara and Mindy seriously made planning our wedding virtually stress-free!
Create A Scene and I Do Events for making our wedding day come to life. I loved that everything from the floral to the decorations to the linens and lighting could be completed so simply by two companies working together. It made everything so simple!
