What do you admire most about your husband?
Derek is a very caring person. Being loved by him is the greatest treasure in the world. He also has a great personality!
Tell us more about your wedding. Is there a great proposal story? How did you choose your location? Any DIY tips? What else would you want everyone to know about your wedding?
The proposal took place at Sleeping Bear Dunes up north in Michigan on October 26, 2017. I found where Derek carved our names at one of the look out spots the year prior, and he mentioned there wasn’t a better time than that while he got down on one knee. He also ordered my ring online, and hunted for the UPS truck two days prior to the proposal. He ended up finding the UPS guy and got my ring at the Taco Bell in Chillicothe.
What was your experience with Adore?
It was amazing! I really liked how Adore had a Pinterest page so you can have a general idea of what dresses they had. My dress jumped out to me the most. I talked with Andrea the day before my appointment, and I mentioned the dress I really wanted to try on that I found on their Pinterest page. After explaining which dress it was, Andrea made a comment that was the dress she had in mind for me as well! My dress was the first one I tried on, and I fell in love with it instantly. The other dresses I tried on were beautiful, but I knew the first one was the one for me. I fell more in love with it every time I came in for each fitting appointment and on my wedding day!
Are there any vendors that stood out to you as top notch? Who and Why?
So Chic Boutique did an amazing job with our invitations. Trefzger’s Bakery also did an amazing job with the cake! DJ Ken Cunningham was great, and we had a packed dance floor the entire night.
Who did your hair and make up?
Hair: Molly Haefli with Marvella Salon. Makeup: Makeup by Lo Schwei
Who was your florist?
My aunt loves putting floral arrangements together as a hobby and does an amazing job at it, so she did them!
Are there any other vendors that we can give a shoutout to? Rentals? Linens? Cake? Videographer?
Morgan + Rachel Photography did an amazing job with our photos and also made a little video clip of our special day!
