First looks before the wedding are never a bad idea. In fact, I did one with my husband. However, every time I hear of a bride and groom that made the choice not to see each other an they describe the emotion of that moment, my heart smiles. That is the choice that Sarah and Dayton made. And in Sarah’s words,
“It was the most exciting moment of the day. My heart was pounding out of my chest. Both of us had tears in our eyes. He was so handsome!”
With that moment lingering it made it easier to get through the vows and then it was on to that first kiss. Sarah says it was a “huge mushy one!” They were both just so excited that it happened and they were married. Which means it didn’t matter who’s eyes were on them. They were able to simply live in the moment with just each other.
On to the reception and the emotions kept flowing during their first dance. Dayton wasn’t ok with just having a first dance but he actually sang the entire song in Sarah’s ear.
Remember that laid back way of planning that Sarah had? Well it paid off. Sarah loved everything about her wedding. She is so happy with how it all came together and wouldn’t change a detail, describing it as a magical experience, which is exactly what every bride dreams of.
Sarah was especially grateful to Heaven on Earth for creating such a dreamy look for her reception.
“I loved my flowers and decorations. Everything about them was perfect, from the bouquets to the chair covers.”
Sarah had two very important heirlooms that she brought into her wedding day. And we couldn’t finish her story without sharing those. One was her grandmother’s engagement ring that was given to her by her grandfather who had passed away. Very few people even knew about this heirloom as it was tied to her bouquet. And that’s exactly how Sarah wanted it. It was her private way of keeping her grandfather with her on this most important day.
The second was her mother’s veil. Our seamstress, Kathie, tailored the veil to recreate it into the perfect fit with Sarah’s dress.
Thank you so much for joining us on Sarah’s journey, but I felt it was only appropriate if Sarah finished the story:
“One of the best parts of the day was knowing that I was going home that night with my best friend to start our forever after.”
Until next time – XOXO,
